Neil Marshall to Direct Weird-Sounding Thriller 'Undergound'« FirstShowing.net

Neil Marshall

After heading back in time for hisRoman epicCenturion, directorNeil Marshallis moving on to a project that sounds completely off-the-wall and almost laughable.Deadlinereports that the filmmaker is now set to directUnderground, a horror thriller from writer David Cohen set in the world of gourmet underground supper clubs. Yes, you read that right: underground supper clubs. But that's not all. Apparently the film is supposed to follow an ambitious young chef who ventures into the terrifying underbelly of extreme cuisine. Now I know things can get a bit crazy withGordon Ramsayor"Iron Chef,"but extreme cuisine?Seriously?

Maybe this is something I just don't full understand yet, but I find myself simultaneously intrigued, baffled and full of laughter. Maybe these chefs use only the most rare of cooking ingredients like the meat of endangered species or maybe even people (I'm thinkingthatis more what this is about). Perhaps there's competitions where the chef's must simultaneously cook a meal while surviving a deadly battle with another chef. I'm just spit-balling, and your guess (no matter how ridiculous) is as good as mine. Marshall certainly is an interesting British auteur, so I'm sure he's got something fun up his sleeves.Isanyoneinterested?
