Impossible Choice: Patton, German, Kreuk all MI4 Candidates« FirstShowing.net

Paula Patton, Lauren German, Kristin Kreuk

I'm not normally one to post about casting news that isn't finalized, but this is a good story about three very beautiful actresses fighting for one role. Paramount is trying to get things moving onMission: Impossible IV(whichwon't even be called that) and withJeremy Renneras the male lead, their focus has shifted to finding a female lead. Yesterday,Deadline(viaSlashFilm) namedLauren German(Hostel: Part II, Dark Country),Paula Patton(Deja Vu, Swing Vote, Precious) andKristin Kreuk(Euro Trip, Street Fighter,"Smallville") as at least three of the actresses who are testing for the role. Quite a wonderful line-up, right?

We don't know much about the story or the characters that will be in it, except that this role is for"ayoung female operative."Other than that, we know Tom Cruise will be back but may not be playing Ethan Hunt for too long. Renner is also in a lead role and both Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg will be reprising their roles forM:I3. Shooting is expected to begin this fall in Vancouver, Prague, Dubai and the US. The latest draft of the script was written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (both of shows like"Happy Town"and"Life of Mars"). Paramount has already set a lateDecember 16th, 2011release date forMission: Impossible IV.

SlashFilm's Russ hopes thatPaula Pattonlands the role, but I'm fine with any of them. We'll let you know who they decide to go with or if someone else ends up getting it instead of these three.Who doyouwant?
