Taking the romantic lead opposite Miley Cyrus inThe Last Songhelped his starpower a bit, but if he's going to be a star, he'll have to do much more than make out with an actress/pop star. He's on the right track by starring in Chuck Russell's remake ofArabian Nights, and now he's got another project lined up asThe Wrapreports Hemsworth is attached to star inBroken Run, a political thriller whichJohn Singleton(Four Brothers,Shaft) is set to direct.

The story, set in Washington D.C., follows a recovering alcoholic who becomes addicted to the thrill of stalking strangers and discovers that her new obsession is perhaps more dangerous than she originally thought. The project is being shopped around to studios with only a pitch currently, butJay LonginoandMichael Browningare supposed to write the screenplay. It's unclear how soon this project might get off the ground, but Singleton is already done shootingAbductionwith Taylor Lautner, so he'll likely figure out his next project soon. Singleton has also been connected to another thriller calledLayoverand possiblyFive Brothers, the sequel to his filmFour Brothers. Stay tuned.
